After several days of experiencing a particularly bad creative block, I found myself exhausted and exasperated. Feeling hopeless, I scribbled down a few lines that I felt described my situation in a last-ditch effort:
“There was no rest, wicked or kind.
Words, actions, or simple thoughts.
Rest was the one thing I could not find.”
Coming back to these words later, I decided to set them to music. I wanted to convey the feelings of restlessness and persistent, forced thought that I had experienced during my creative block.
